The encounter has become quite a grudge match since Brown and his assistant Archie Knox left Fir Park to move to Aberdeen in December 2010.
Motherwell chairman John Boyle was involved in an astonishing bust-up with Dons boss Brown in April last year.
Brown angered the Well chief when he took legal action against his old club over bonus payments, and that bad blood boiled over in the mouth of the tunnel following Motherwell’s 2-1 win over the Dons.
And the few hundred football fans from Motherwell who don't support the Old Firm have vented their anger towards Brown on more than one occasion during matches between the two clubs.
But despite and perhaps because of this, Brown is particularly savouring the build-up to Sunday's live lunchtime fixture at Pittodrie.
He said: "Motherwell are a good side, they’re top of league and great credit to Stuart McCall. He’s done a fantastic job there with little money but they’re flying at the moment.
"It’s going to be a good test at the weekend but it’s one that we look forward too, especially as it’s Motherwell.”
