TWO Dons players are alleged to have been punched in the after-match stramash following Aberdeen's 1-0 win over Hearts on Saturday.
It has emerged that defender Lee Mair and Chris "Phil 'Bebo' McGuire" Maguire had punches thrown at them in the Pittodrie tunnel following the game.
A Pittodrie spokesman revealed there was an scuffle as the players made their way to the changing rooms, with Mair and Maguire involved.
He added: "It would be fair to say it was Hearts players, rather than Aberdeen players, who instigated it."
Aberdeen will not make an official complaint apart from sending the damage bill to Tynecastle (click here for story), but the SFA could take action if it is mentioned in referee Iain Brines' match report.
The match saw nine yellow cards from Brines, who also sent off Hearts defenders Marius Zaliukas and Lee Wallace, the latter for verbally abusing the official after the game.
And it seems certain that Hearts will face a £10,000 fine following Saturday's disgraceful display of poor sportsmanship, and a repeat of last season's £40,000 end-of-season fine for poor discipline is sure to be on the cards with the Gorgie club on seven red cards already this term.
This is not the first time that games involving the two sides have courted controversy in the last few years.
Hearts' borderline-lunatic boss Csaba Laszlo invaded the pitch to confront the referee after the previous encounter between the teams this season, and there have been a number of disciplinary issues in recent times.
And the fixture between the Euro rivals is now being described as close to Aberdeen-Rangers in terms of hostility.
