Captain Zander Crocked With Scots

Zander Diamond should be fit for Saturday's big match at Celtic Park despite receiving a nasty head knock in the Scotland U21's win over Iceland at Firhill last night.

Diamond had stiches put in his forehead after the clash but it seems that the injury is only a cut and not concussion. If the latter were to be the case, he would certainly miss the weekend's fixture with league leaders Celtic.

Diamond and Ricky Foster both played a part in the game with Zander captaining the young Jocks and Foster coming on as a second half substitute during the convincing 4-0 win.

Flame-haired Kilmarnock striker Steven Naismith scored in the very first minute and the Scots never looked back, with further goals from Livingston's Martin Scott and a double from on-form Hearts striker Calum Elliot completing the scoring.

Meanwhile, injured Dons duo Andrew Considine and Stevie Crawford were both back in training yesterday although it is too early to know if either will be fit to feature on Saturday.

With top scorer Jamie Smith missing until the league split, Jimmy Calderwood will be desperate to get second-top scorer Crawford fully fit to provide creativity and goals.

It is indicitive of Aberdeen's season that Crawford was struck down with injury just as he had found form, scoring 3 goals and setting up 2 more in the last 5 games he played for the Dons.
