League Cup-winning captain Anderson insists that the Reds can beat the Basque club, but that the sell-out crowd must make Pittodrie as intimidating as possible.
The Reds face an uphill task after losing 2-0 in San Sebastian but still have hope going into this evening's sell-out second leg at Pittodrie.
Sociedad's stadium is a big empty bowl - a total contrast to the tight stands at Pittodrie with the crowd right on top of the players.
And Anderson wants the packed stands to make as much noise as they can to spur the team on to victory.
He said: "We need the Aberdeen fans to help make it as intimidating as possible.
"[Sociedad] are experienced players and will be used to that but if we can get the fans behind us then it will help us take the game to them.
"Hopefully, if we can score a goal then it will give us the spring to really kick on."
