Six trialists started for the Dons at Glebe Park and one of them, striker Patrick Bengondo, was among the goalscorers.
Brown will now decide which of the contenders will join the squad when they fly to Holland this weekend, but 20-year-old former Darlington goalkeeper Chris Oldfield will be on the plane.
Former Derby right-back Jason Beardsley, defender Carlos Nunez, Spanish midfielder Galdos, Worksop midfielder James Ashmore and Cameroonian forward Bengondo also started.
But Brown told RedTV: "Contracts are difficult to get because there are so few available wages. The budget is tight.
"If there is a guy out there though that we really wanted the board will make sure we get him.
"There are a couple of the players who merit serious consideration but I don't want to name them yet as I have not spoken to them individually.
Brown, who has rejected the chance to bring former Rangers forward Nacho Novo to Pittodrie, added: "We will take Chris Oldfield with us to Holland as we need cover for that position. So he will be invited across as the number two goalkeeper.
"I am not saying yet as to whether he will be the only one who travels with us. None of them were out of their depth and they all did okay."
Brown also revealed his delight at Darren Mackie, who scored on his first encounter since suffering a serious knee injury last year.
"He has put in an unbelievable amount of work to get himself fit again," the former Scotland boss said.
