Aberdeen defender Ash Taylor last night insisted the Dons were much better than Kairat Almaty over the two legs.
And he slammed the Kazakhstan side for their time wasting and play-acting tactics.
The Dons drew 1-1 on the night at Pittodrie but slumped to an agonising 3-2 aggregate defeat in the Granite City to crash out the Europa League at the third qualifying stage.
Taylor said: “We were a better team than them over the two legs. That’s what hurts the most. It is bitterly disappointing.
“We just lacked that little bit of quality over the two legs and we weren’t clinical enough.
“We didn’t take our chances, while they took theirs in the home leg. It’s so disappointing to go out of the competition, especially after a performance like that.
“As for Kairat’s play-acting and timewasting tactics, if the boot was on the other foot we would have probably done the same but it’s really frustrating when that happens. You want to get the game going as fast as you can so it was very frustrating.
“I was trying to get one of their players off the pitch because there was nothing wrong with him.
“The goalkeeper was just going down to waste time.
“I just tried to drag him off the pitch so we could get going but it all kicked off.”
