Fit-again Russell Anderson says he is uncertain where he will be playing his football next season and admits he has been frustrated sitting on the sidelines at Aberdeen.
The Dons’ skipper has not played since August last year when he injured his knee against St Johnstone.
However, the 36-year-old is ready to return having sat out his team’s successful season which has seen them become Celtic’s only real contenders for the Scottish Premiership title.
Anderson is out of contract in June and is unsure about his future but is desperate to get back on the pitch playing for the first team.
Asked about his future, the defender said: “I have put a lot of thought into it. Whether I will be a part of the squad or not will become a lot clearer over the next two or three weeks.
“I have loved having my time back at the club but I appreciate I have not played a lot this season.
“It will come down to a conversation I have with the manager. It will be a two-way dialogue because that is how these things go. We will just have to wait and see.
“I’m fit again now. It has been a really frustrating season, especially as the team have been doing so well. I want to be out on the pitch, contributing, playing some kind of part.
“I’m finally back to the stage where I’m playing again. Hopefully, I can get some game time for the first team before the season finishes.”
