DONS boss Jimmy Calderwood says the club will try and appeal against the red card given to Charlie Mulgrew in the 2-1 loss to Rangers at Ibrox.
Mulgrew was sent off by referee Stuart Dougal on 18 minutes after an outrageous piece of play-acting by shameless Rangers cheat Kyle Lafferty.
Calderwood told BBC Scotland: "Charlie got sent off for seemingly doing nothing. He said 'gaffer I've done nothing' and he's an honest lad.
"The television people say there was nothing in it and that's annoying. We certainly will appeal if possible.
"Normally Stuart Dougal's very honest with those kind of things.
"So hopefully we can appeal about it and hopefully Stuart's honest enough and Charlie can play next week."
As well as rescinding Mulgrew's red card - which would leave the dead-ball specialist free to play in Aberdeen's crunch Euro decider against Hibs next week - Aberdeen-Mad believes that the SFA should ban Lafferty from ever playing in Scottish football again, in order to send out a clear message that cheating is unacceptable.
Rangers manager Walter Smith also condemned Lafferty's disgraceful actions, but has spent most of the weekend whitewashing the incident in the Scottish press by focusing on the plainly deserved red card given to Madjid Bougherra, for a dangerous studs-high challenge into Dons keeper Jamie Langfield's face.
Smith and the Ibrox media machine have shamefully used a torrent of outrage about Bougherra's dismissal to deflect from the Lafferty incident and sadly it seems to have worked.
The accusation that Bougherra was ordered off to even things up, which has been levelled from various Rangers and Rangers-friendly sources, neatly ignores the fact that the Algerian flew into Langfield's face with his studs showing and his foot raised several inches off the ground.
Furthermore, no mention has yet been made about the Rangers' fans sectarian chanting during the game, clearly audible during the television coverage, so it appears the SFA was simply paying lip-service to UEFA's condemnation of the Old Firm support's activities and has now gone back to ignoring it.
