WHILE some typically sloppy defending, coupled with our current chronic lack of a cutting edge meant yet again we returned from Ibrox pointless most Reds were relatively content.
The source of this contentment was mainly due to the performance of Severin and Kerr in midfield where they outclassed the much hyped Ferguson-Mendes partnership. In Severin we have one of the best central midfielders in the SPL, yet Calderwood has persisted in playing him in central defence, where he's distinctly average. A Severin/Kerr partnership would allow the defence to gel into a cohesive unit and provide a solid base to unleash Aluko and (hopefully) Sicknote Smith and watching the Dons may become something we enjoy doing again.
Given none of our rivals has taken advantage of our chronic start then, given our now traditional strong finish, only a fool would bet against Red Army abusing their livers in foreign climes next season.
