This Saturday sees us play in the most tenuous derby in the British Isles as we travel 100 miles for the 'Derby Du Nord' against Caley.
Forget Barca-Real, this is the game between a team in Blue and Red stripes and one in All White that the entire world stops for, before quickly realising it's got far far better things to do than watch 'El Crappico'.
As you can tell we Dons fans are completely ambivalent about this 'derby', probably best illustrated by the fact a large section of the travelling support on Saturday are treating it is a pre-Xmas fancy dress drinking session rather than a high- octane battle for local pride.
The truth is that we still and probably always will view Caley (like all the ex-Highland League teams) as the likeable distant country cousins we used to visit during the summer holidays rather than the SPL rivals they've become.
So that and the fact this fixture has produced some of the worst games of football ever seen means we find it exceptionally hard to get worked up about Caley. Even our opening day defeat produced more frustration than anger in Reds.
Of course if they were to win their first home game against us on Saturday, that might start to change... but I doubt it, because the truth is that Caley are just too hard to hate.
