It was disappointing to receive only a point on Saturday. Mark McGhee is beginning to see the fruits of his labours with improved performances, and improved results will surely follow. The boss now has his team playing some lovely football and the skill and enthusiasm of his youngest prospects is especially rewarding.
The issues with squad depth were largely responsible for Hearts stealing a point against the run of play but the addition of Maurice Ross, an experienced international on a free transfer, if a deal can be reached this week, will help to reduce the impact of injuries on our defence in the coming months.
McGhee clearly has a long way to go on his Aberdeen journey but the initial signs are promising and an afternoon at Pittodrie is once again becoming an enjoyable, entertaining experience. Bring on United...
