Prior to Saturday's game, too much pre-match tittle-tattle revolved around our former manager's return but sensible fans knew a far more pressing need for both teams was bagging three points. The Dons achieved this without huge difficulty, due mainly to a toothless Kilmarnock showing. We huffed and puffed but were hardly going to blow the house down with the only industrious Mackie as a lone spearhead.
Having missed out on Hearts-bound Darren Barr, all eyes are now on McGhee's transfer market dealings: Stephen Dobbie, Steven McLean, we are waiting with growing impatience.
The winning goal was a gem, notched spectacularly - and some might say ironically - by Derek Young, re-recruited by our ex-boss who's now saddled with a perilous relegation dogfight ... now, what's his name again?
