ABERDEEN
Another side-effect of the Dons' season effectively ending last week is that an artificial close-season has appeared a month early - and that means transfer gossip. Woohoo.
Last week, it was a pair of potential marquee signings - in Kevin Kyle's case 'marquee' aptly describes the shape of his head; Billy Mehmet joining Kyle in being first linked, then denied, then ruled out.
It's gotten lazy this week in medialand though, as the Dons have been linked with a player already at the club, Steven MacLean (who has scored two in two games) - but even here it looks unlikely the club will grasp the on-loan nettle even if MacLean is freed by Plymouth and takes a wage cut.
If that is the level the club is operating at, it is going to be a looooong summer...
