ABERDEEN
REMEMBRANCE day might have been looming but Satuday's fixture at Ibrox was nothing more than forgettable. Aberdeen stretched their dire record without victory at Rangers and that the scoreline was kept down to 2-0 was as much about the home side easing off as it was down to the Dons mettle.
Significantly, you could almost hear the manager's relief that they didn't suffer another landslide defeat, but a 2-0 reverse, surrendered as meekly as it was, can never be cause for a pat on the back.
It was men against boys during a first half that heaped more embarrassment on Aberdeen, whose dramatic slide seems to have spread fear and panic throughout the team, coupled with a total lack of confidence.
The gulf between the two sides put the tin lid on a dreadful week for the Pittodrie club who are indeed lucky not to find themselves rock bottom of the league.
Just where the next win is coming from is anyone's guess but McGhee must be hoping, quite desperately, it's the next game ... and the one ofter that.
