ABERDEEN Under-19s have beaten their Motherwell counterparts to continue an unbeaten run that stretches back to October 10th.
Callum McRobbie returned from Scotland duty to score the winner in the 1-0 win over the Motherwell team coached by ex-Dons target man Willie Falconer.
At the start of the game the Motherwell keeper had a good double save from Mitch Megginson and Nicky Clark. Aberdeen should have had a penalty kick after Peter Pawlett, who made his Dons first-team debut in midweek, beat four players before he was taken down in the box.
Just after the break the Dons took the lead with a fine finish from McRobbie. The youngsters had more chances to seal the victory but in the end they held on for a deserved win.
The win means the Dons Under-19s leapfrog Well into fourth slot in the Clydesdale Bank U19 League, level on points with Celtic.
Under-19s coach Neil Cooper said: "It was another very encouraging result. We played very well.
"We passed the ball well and the movement was good and defensively we did not concede, so it was a good afternoon for us and I am pleased.
"The only target is to finish the season as strong as we can. The first part of the season was just about bedding in the boys because it was such a young side with so many new players. We have gone from strength to strength though and we are undefeated for a good while.
"The future looks good with the five boys involved with the Scotland U17 side this week."
