Aberdeen Reserves 3 Dundee United Reserves 5
John 'Budgie' Stewart scored a hat-trick to move his amazing second-string scoring record to over a goal a game, but it was in vain.
The result, coupled with Celtic's 2-1 win over Motherwell, saw the Parkhead club collect the Scottish Reserve League title in addition to the SPL and U19 leagues in an impressive whitewash.
Aberdeen went in front on the half hour when Darren Mackie found Budgie and the striker made no mistake from fifteen yards. Budgie knocked home a rebound in 35 minutes to give the Dons a two-goal cushion, but United pulled one back just before half-time through the hilariously named Goodwillie.
United pulled level a minute after the restart which must have had reserve team coach Sandy Clark pulling his remaining hair out. To compound this, the Dons proceeded to collapse, allowing United to move 5-2 up in the space of 17 minutes.
Budgie completed his hat-trick with six minutes to go when he sent a low shot into the net from a Kyle Macaulay through ball.
