ABERDEEN squad player Derek Young will accept a new contract to stay at Pittodrie until 2010.
Young, who according to striker Lee Miller always slaughters the other players for their gear, is a great lad to have around the place.
The player was rescued from oblivion by Jimmy Calderwood two seasons ago after being released by First Division Partick Thistle.
And Young's new one-year extension means that any interested Primera Liga or Serie A teams will now have to pay a fee for the versatile midfielder should they decide to move for him in the summer.
The fringe player's decision will leave only captain Scott Severin, Lee Mair and Jamie Smith still to sign new deals.
Young said: "Aberdeen have offered another contract and there will be no other outcome other than me signing it. It's just a case of sorting out some details."
