ABERDEEN are set to add former Darlington striker Tommy Wright to this summer's Red Revolution.
The club agreed a fee of around £75,000 with the Quakers for the tough 1920s-named Roy-of-the-Rovers-esque striker a fortnight ago, and the player has put ink to pulp on personal terms.
As the 23-year-old Englishman had a minor knee injury towards the end of last season, the Dons medical staff decided to take precautions before the deal is finalised.
Wright faces a stringent medical at Pittodrie today and, all being well, will be paraded at Pittodrie on Friday.
And the forward, who scored 15 goals last season, could be in line to take part in Saturday's SPL opener against Inverness Caley Thistle.
Wright will add more power to the Dons forward line which has been lacking since the departure of Craig Brewster last season.
Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood said: "Tommy will bring a lot of strength to the team as he is a big lad. He is a good holder of the ball and is very strong in the air.
"He has everything in him to become a big favourite with the fans."
As one English striker heads into Pittodrie, another completed his move out.
Stevie Lovell has signed a one-year deal at crocks' haven Falkirk, where he will join new signings Jackie McNamara, Neil McCann and Burton O'Brien on the treatment table.
Lovell had a scoring record of five goals in seven games for the Dons against Rangers, so leaves with fond memories and the best wishes of Aberdeen-Mad.
