ABERDEEN may be looking to finalise the capture of their next boss, but the club hasn't been distracted from the job of securing the futures of young talent at Pittodrie.
Fraser Fyvie, one of Scotland's most promising teen stars, has pledged his future to the Dons despite stories that he would be heading south to either one of the Old Firm or a top English club.
The 15-year-old midfielder has inked a two-year deal that will see him turn full-time when the squad returns for pre-season training later this month.
Fyvie, who has been with Aberdeen for the past five years, captained the Scotland team which played in last season's Victory Shield competition.
Dons legend and Director of Football Willie Miller said: "Fraser is a special talent and definitely one who we are confident will progress through the ranks very quickly, having already played for the Under 19's on occasion last season.
"His talent understandably caught the attention of other clubs but, having been with Aberdeen since he was eleven, he is well aware of what we have to offer and has seen the likes of Peter Pawlett and Michael Paton make the breakthrough in recent months.
"Youth development is the way forward for Aberdeen and Fraser knows that if he continues to progress at the level he has done to date, he will be given every opportunity to demonstrate his considerable talent.
"I'm delighted to have him on board and convinced that, in the not too distant future, he'll go on to become a key member of the squad here."
