Real Scottish People's League Week 12
Every fixture in the Real SPL's twelfth week was played on Saturday afternoon - just as it should be - with runaway leaders Motherwell hosting Kilmarnock in a live lunchtime kick-off.
That match ended 0-0 although the entertainment on offer was far higher than the scoreline suggests - and it means that Well have still only lost a single game all season. Killie's point wasn't enough to stop the Ayrshire club being overtaken for sixth slot and they now find themselves in the bottom half of the table.
Replacing them in the top half are the only real movers in this week's RSPL, Hibernian, who took three points off St Mirren thanks to an action-packed first half which saw five goals and the lead change hands three times. There were no further goals in the second period meaning Hibs took the dramatic St Mirren Park encounter 3-2.
The early relegation battle between Inverness and Dunfermline ended in a 1-1 draw, but it took a late penalty equaliser from Buchanan for the Pars to take what they deserved from the match. However the point each will not please either side when they look at the RSPL as they are still stuck at the foot. But with only a win between fourth place and bottom spot in this exciting new league, it can only take a couple of results to turn the table on its head.
The other game saw a 0-0 result in the A90 Derby between St Johnstone and Dundee Utd, meaning the Perth club failed to take advantage of Motherwell's dropped points and the caravan-dwellers remain perilously close to the drop zone which is a real shame.
