YOUNG Dons star Michael Paton has signed a new long-term contract at the club.
The 20-year-old product of the AFC Youth Academy, has inked a three-year deal which will see him remain at Pittodrie till 2013.
Paton, who is most famous for making mincemeat out of Scotland international Steven Whittaker in the Dons two games with Rangers this season, joins fellow starlet Peter Pawlett in committing his future to the Dons this season.
He told RedWeb: "I have been playing games this season under Mark McGhee and I have never been happier.
"I am still a young player who is learning with every game and I feel Aberdeen is the best place for me to develop my game.
"There are a number of good young boys coming through and I am really looking forward to the future here."
