New Boy Stays Positive

NEW DONS defender Maurice Ross believes he saw enough signs to indicate his new club is heading in the right direction – despite the home loss to Dundee United.

Aberdeen lost 2-0 at Pittodrie on Saturday, but 28-year-old Ross thought the outcome was harsh on the hosts.

He told RedTV: "We had two good chances in the first half and we failed to take them.

"We never gave up and kept making forward runs but it just wasn't to be unfortunately.

"It could easily have been a win today. That is the fine margins – if we had taken our chances we could have gone in at 2-0 and then we can shut up shop and defend our lead.

"It is only a week I have been here so let's just look forward and try to be as positive as possible."

The experienced right-back signed a short-term deal with the Dons last Thursday, after leaving Turkish club Kocaelispor in May.
