ABERDEEN'S Lee Miller has followed his November Scotland call-up with the Clydesdale Bank Premier League Player of the Month award for December.
The big striker added three goals to his consistently good all-round play last month as the Dons climbed the SPL to become a serious contender for the league's third slot.
Miller, who arrived on a free transfer from Dundee Utd in 2006, is Aberdeen's top scorer this season with eight goals, and scored the vital opener in Saturday's 2-1 victory over Alloa in the Scottish Cup.
Miller won his second international cap in Scotland's friendly defeat by Argentina in November, and was praised for his performance after coming on as a second-half substitute.
The worry for Dons fans now is whether Aberdeen can keep Miller at Pittodrie with all this positive publicity, and some reports have been linking the player with a big-money move to Rangers.
But with Miller signing a new two-year contract last summer, it would surely take a hefty seven-figure offer to persuade the club to cash in on their prize asset.
Miller said: "There is talk in the papers all the time. Obviously it is great to be linked with teams such as Rangers but there are always names thrown about in January.
"That is to be expected and I just have to concentrate on my game."
