ABERDEEN left-back and dead-ball expert Charlie Mulgrew has been offered a new long-term deal with the Pittodrie club.
Dons boss Mark McGhee revealed today that Mulgrew has been offered a new contract, demonstrating how desperate the club is to keep hold of its free-kick specialist.
Mulgrew, 26, is out of contract at the end of the season and he will be free to talk to other clubs in January, but McGhee is determined to ensure the defender remains at Pittodrie.
He said: "We have made a formal contract offer to Charlie Mulgrew and hopefully he will accept it."
Mulgrew was snatched from Wolves for £150,000 by previous Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood last summer, and is the Dons top scorer this season.
