Aberdeen are set to add another midfielder to their squad for next season.
The club's official site has confirmed that Dundee United's out of contract midfielder Mark Kerr has agreed personal terms with the club.
If Kerr passes a medical early next week, the 26-year-old will join the Dons on a two year deal.
Kerr joined the Tannadice side from Falkirk in 2003 and had been linked with several clubs south of the border in recent weeks.
The player's consistent performances were influential in United's Top 6 position last season after several years in the doldrums.
However he will be most remembered for his catastrophic pass-back which cost the Arabs the CIS Cup - a result that would have endeared him to the Dons support but for the fact that it was against Rangers.
The signing will take Aberdeen's summer midfield captures to three, with Gary McDonald and Sammy Stewart already joining the Pittodrie revolution.
It also raises the tantalising prospect of recreating the Falkirk and Championship Manager 4 dream team of Mark Kerr and Lee Miller.
The news will provide a pick-me-up to Dons fans who were disappointed to hear this week that Barry Nicholson has finally left Pittodrie for the bright lights of Preston.
Nicholson made more than 100 appearances for the Dons but rejected several offers of a new deal to seek a move to England.
