How Soon Is Gow?
Aberdeen would have to wait until the summer to snatch the in-form forward as no transfer fee would be required, but clubs with a bigger budget could snap up the player, who has scored four goals in his last two games, before the end of the month and scupper Jimmy's hopes.
He said: "We had a good talk with Alan, concentrating on the game itself, from things like training and positions, to how this club is run and I got the impression that it was very well received.
"But there is always a chance that the likes of Rangers and Celtic will become interested in a player who you are going after and, when that happens, it makes things very difficult."
The Dons chances slightly increased yesterday as Hibernian pulled out of the race for the 24-year-old.
Hibs boss John Collins held a press conference at Easter Road on Monday and told the assembled media: "Alan Gow will not be joining Hibs.
"He is a very good player and we made him our best offer but it appears that he sees his future elsewhere and we wish him all the best."
Gow himself is giving nothing away and is keeping his feet on the ground despite the multi-club tug-of-war for his signature.
He told the Scotsman: "As far as I'm concerned, I'm a Falkirk player until I've heard otherwise. I'll be giving 100 percent, my contract is here until the summer.
"You're obviously going to be impressed if big clubs are interested in signing you, but I've got plenty of time, I've got no rush and I'm happy here."
His current boss, John 'Boo-Boo' Hughes (or something like that) added: "We are desperate to keep Gowser and I can guarantee he won't leave until the summer unless someone comes in with crazy money.
"I can 90 percent guarantee him first-team football every week here, and that might not happen elsewhere.
