DONS defender Ricky Foster has apologised to boss Jimmy Calderwood for the bust-up that saw him dropped from the team.
Foster was axed from the team to face Dundee United in the SPL last month after clashing with Calderwood during training.
'Google' remained dropped from the first-team until he came on as a sub in last weekend's cup tie at Dunfermline.
And now the 23-year-old is hoping to be involved in Saturday's SPL clash with Hamilton and insists he has no intention of quitting the club.
Foster said: "I fully respect the manager for what he did and I realise I was in the wrong.
"You try to learn from your mistakes, I went in to see the manager and we had a chat.
"He said he was glad I went to see him after everything that had gone on. He told me he wants me to stay at the club and I have no reason to think otherwise. I still have a contract, so I intend to stay."
Foster used the public apology to take a swipe at the media, including Aberdeen newspaper the Evening Express, for sensationalising the story and sending it spinning out of control.
The local tabloid paper, whose circulation has collapsed by over 12% in the last five years, broke the story of Foster and Calderwood's bust-up a full four days after the event.
Foster said: "It was all blown up in the papers.
"Things happen at clubs all the time, but the papers made a big thing of it. They made it worse than it was."
Aberdeen-Mad, who did not run the story, is involved in a campaign for supporters to boycott Aberdeen Journals' newspapers until its editorial staff stop treating Dons' fans like dirt.
