Duff Desperate For Deal

ABERDEEN midfielder Stuart Duff says he will fight every day to prove to Mark McGhee he is worthy of a new contract.

The lifelong Dons fan's deal runs out at the end of this season and the new Dons boss has made it clear in recent weeks that wants to make sweeping changes to the Pittodrie playing staff.

Duff was brought on to replace Jerel Ifil at Ibrox, and his performance led to a starting berth in the weekend fixture against Kilmarnock.

And the 27-year-old knows that it's up to himself to prove he is worth keeping on by performing well when selected.

He told the Daily Record: "I need to convince the manager. Every week I try to show what I can do.

"No one is good enough to rest on their laurels. If you give your all and he doesn't keep you, you shake hands and move on.

"But the worst thing in the world would be leaving having not given everything and wondering if you could have done more."
