ABERDEEN captain Scott Severin believes the next two games will determine Aberdeen's season - and he demands two wins.
Victory against black-and-white pair St Mirren and Dunfermline, in the SPL and Scottish Cup respectively, would close the gap on Hearts to three points in the SPL and clinch a place in the cup semi-finals.
And the Dons captain is desperate to kick-start the Dons season with two wins after a run of five games without a victory, starting with tonight's first visit to New St Mirren Park.
Severin said: "It's a huge week for the club in the league and the Scottish Cup and two victories are all that matter.
"There's no way we want to slip up and give Hearts any more encouragement because the gap is big enough at the moment.
"We can't afford to lose or draw against St Mirren and allow them the chance to increase that lead.
"We have overhauled bigger gaps in the past than this one and we still have to play them again. But you don't really want to be chasing teams down if you don't have to and beating St Mirren at least means the gap can't get bigger.
"We'll try to play good football but if we have to grind out a win that's what we will do."
