ABERDEEN boss Mark McGhee is in signing talks with former Premiership midfielder Lee Hendrie — and may make a late swoop for seemingly-Hearts-bound Scotland international Paul Hartley.
Hendrie, who spent a number of seasons with Aston Villa and is capped by England, is currently without a club after leaving Derby County.
Hendrie, 33, ended last season on loan to Brighton in League One and has also been on the books of Sheffield United.
Aberdeen are also thought to have joined Hearts in expressing an interest in Hartley, who is keen on a return to Scotland after a season with Championship club Bristol City.
McGhee is thought to be desperate to add experience to his young squad.
