INVERNESS Caley Thistle midfielder Don Cowie is is set to knock back Aberdeen and sign a new contract with the highland club.
The Dons had been linked with the 25-year-old, who scored nine goals for Caley Thistle last season.
Cowie said: "It's nice to be linked with teams like Hibs and Aberdeen but you get used to things being written or said and take it with a pinch of salt. I know nothing of it.
"I have another year on my contract here and as far as I know I'll be playing for the club again next year."
Meanwhile, striker Richie 'Diego' Foran will again not be moving to Pittodrie - the third time he has failed to join the Dons.
The 27-year-old Southend forward, who spent two-and-a-half years in the SPL with Motherwell, looked all set to be revealed as a Dons player this week.
However, the Dons insisted on a stringent medical with Foran currently recovering from a major knee op, and this is thought to have been the stumbling block.
Dons Legend and Director of Football Willie Miller told the club's official website that the reasons were nothing to do with money.
He said: "I can assure our fans that there were other factors behind the decision to drop our interest and nothing whatsoever to do with finance.
"Furthermore, the player was just one of a number of potential targets that we are assessing at present and we will continue to closely monitor the situation with the aim being to secure as strong a squad as we possibly can within our budget constraints."
There is some good news for the Dons, as young striker Chris 'Phil "Bebo" McGuire' Maguire has stated that he has no intention of leaving Pittodrie.
The 19-year-old had been linked with a £300,000 move to Coventry, which led Director of Football Miller to say that "a few more zeros needed to be added to the figure."
As Coventry have not followed up their interest with a £300million bid, is seems the move is dead in the water.
Maguire said: "I only know what I read about Coventry City being interested, but I haven't heard anything officially and I'm not even interested in leaving Aberdeen.
"I'm pleased with my progress I've been making and I've still got a year left on my contract and would be happy to extend that."
