DONS vice-captain Zander Diamond wants his team-mates to learn from their mistakes and finish a crucial eight days for the club on a high.
Aberdeen lost to Hearts yesterday after taking the lead, and with a fifth-round cup tie and a vital SPL game against Dundee Utd coming up in the next week the Dons cannot afford to be similarly profligate.
And pertinacious defender Diamond is hugely disappointed with the outcome, and believes the players must look at cutting out the mistakes - starting right away on the training pitch.
Diamond said: "It is a huge disappointed for us. I think it was the best we have played away from home for while.
"We have managed to get ourselves in front with a great goal. Then we stopped playing a bit. We are very disappointed with that aspect of the game.
"We have to get back into training and see where we could have improved after getting the goal."
And while Diamond says the Tynecastle loss is a blow, he adds that the chase for third place is nowhere near over.
He said: "There are still going to be twists and turns throughout the season.
"We have a big game on Tuesday. We have to get through that then we have another massive game against United on Saturday.
"It is going to be a huge game for us. We can't feel sorry for ourselves. We have to get on with it and pick ourselves up for the busy week ahead."
