Pittodrie pin-up Steven Craig will get the chance to continue his comeback from injury tonight despite the Reserve League fixture with Celtic being cancelled. A closed door friendly match with Peterhead has been arranged for tonight at Balmoor Stadium, and has a 7.30pm kick off.
The full squad for this fixture is: Esson, Blanchard, Thomson, Donald, McInnes, Tiernan, Buckley, O'Leary, Stewart, Adams, Pasquinelli, Craig, Muirhead, Bagshaw, Kiely, Bruce, Shields.
With Darren Mackie beginning to score regularly again, Noel Whelan playing three weeks in a row (shock!), Pasquinelli fit enough for substitute duty, and youngsters Stewart and Foster scoring goals, suddenly it seems Aberdeen are not short of goal threats. When Craig banged in the winning goals in the home fixture with hapless Livingston, it seemed he would be our first-choice striker this season, and the fact that he will not walk straight in to the first team when fully fit is great news for the fans, and a headache for Calderwood and Nicholl.
A surplus of goalscorers at Pittodrie? Whatever next, two world-class goalkeepers?
