RKC WAALWIJK defender Tim Bakens is hoping that his immediate future will be spent at Aberdeen.
The Dutch centre-half has spoken to Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood about a move to the SPL, and the 25-year-old is keen to join the Pittodrie revolution.
Bakens is available on a free transfer as he rejected a new contract with RKC Waalwijk after the club missed out on promotion to the Eredivisie in a play-off.
As well as providing an imposing presence at the back, the big Dutchman is a threat at the other end of the pitch, scoring nine goals last season.
He said: "Jimmy Calderwood called me last week to ask if I would be interested in a move to Aberdeen.
"I said I would and he told me he would call me back in a couple of days but I have not heard anything. He said he was looking at another defender as his first choice but would get back to me if it didn't work out.
"I have received nothing concrete from Aberdeen but I hope to hear from the club soon so I can make a decision on my future."
