DONS boss Mark McGhee has wasted no time this week by completing the double-signing of Yoann Folly and Scott Vernon first thing on Monday morning.
'Axel' Folly has been on trial at Pittodrie for the last couple of weeks and the defensive midfielder represented France at youth level before making his senior debut for Togo in 2008.
The official AFC website claims he 'impressed' in the pre-season games, however Aberdeen-Mad match reporters at the Dunfermline and Tamworth games, Thomas Watt and Scott Rae, were unconvinced with his early showings for the Dons, adding the caveat that these are only friendlies.
McGhee also completed the signing of English striker Scott Vernon,
The 26 year old, who was with Colchester United last season, completed a medical at Loughborough late last night and will go straight into the squad for Tuesday evening's match against Port Vale.
Vernon began his career at Oldham Athletic and has also played for Blackpool as well as loan spells at Northampton, Gillingham and Southend.
The pair become Aberdeen's fourth and fifth summer signings after Rory McArdle, Josh McGennis and Mark Howard, as the Red Revolution gathers a head of steam in the build-up to the new season.
There is no news yet on the situation regarding Lee Hendrie, but keep an eye on Aberdeen-Mad's Stand Free messageboard for all the speculation and, eventually, news.
