Fans Group Enters Discussion With SFA

Greig Ingram, chair of Dons Supporters Together, and two colleagues from Fans First Scotland met with SFA chief executive Stewart Regan at Hampden last Tuesday, where the aims of FFS were discussed.

Regan was informed that the over-riding purpose of FFS is to change the tone and content of debate on specific football issues away from confrontation and self-interest to a focus on the wider, more general good of the game with an evidence-based foundation.

This would be done by sourcing new ideas and proposals from fresh voices and coalitions of voices, and by doing so forge a better conversation between fans and football authorities, developing the readiness of the latter to enter into dialogue with the former, stimulating debate between the two parties and thus promoting a grounded approach to football policy-making.

A DST spokesman said: "There was general agreement at the meeting, that at this crucial time for Scottish football, it was important that fans played their part in forging the future of our national game."
