NEW Dons fans group Red Army 12 has reached an agreement to paint a mural on the side of renowned supporters' pre-match haunt the Broadhill Bar - and they are looking for fans who are handy with a paintbrush.
Red Army 12 has been organised by a group of fans who are determined to unite the Dons support and put an end to factions and infighting.
The response from Dons fans has been highly encouraging so far, but the group want to do more to encourage new members - and having the Broadhill Bar decked out in red-and-white as a focal point for the support is the next step.
The plan is to gather as many volunteers at the 'Broader' on the weekend of July 10-11th to get the mural painted, and have a load of fun, meet new people and put faces to forum usernames in the process.
The mural will take up as much of the exterior of the building as possible, and will be loosely based on the design below.
Red Army 12 spokesperson Stephen McCormick told Aberdeen-Mad: "The place looks a bit drab just now and it would be great to make it look like a real football fans boozer, especially with it being so close to the ground.
"We are looking to get paint by any means possible, donations of red or white paint, and we also need a squad of fans to help us do this in the summer.
"If there are any artists out there who could help that would be great as well.
"A local painter is going to supply rollers etc we just need helpers to do this one weekend, and we are aiming for the weekend of 10th July to do the work - you won't go thirsty that's for sure.
"So if you have a steady hand or any way of helping us make this easier then please get in touch."
